Policy brief preview
So, here it is...a preview of my (nearly complete but still in-progress) policy brief on the CCSS and Text Complexity. Enjoy!
Your comments about scaffolding in K-12 vs. college settings in very interesting. We make a lot of assumptions when we fail to provide the supports needed for students to fully understand what they are being asked to read.
The CCSS acknowledgment of the qualitative factors regarding reading complexity shows great promise. Your video really helps to see the possibilities that teachers can use their professional knowledge and judgment to guide curriculum.
